Deidre Imus Gets Witched

The Wicked Witch of Neurodiversity is now attacking Deidre Imus. (I won't link to it.) Mrs Seidel claims that Mrs Imus is mistaken in her assertion that parents overwhelmingly share her suspicion that mercury in vaccines caused the autism epidemic. Seidel must have missed this statistical analysis that clearly shows the Witch is off her rocker.

Seidel goes on to claim that some parents have personal experience of the genetic transmission of autism characteristics. Reminds me of Fantastic Voyage with Raquel Welch. Maybe Seidel shrunk herself and her broomstick and took a ride on some sperm cells from an autistic guy to observe them penetrating the egg. Her illogical mind could then leap to the conclusion that the autism must have been passed on genetically, irrespective of the fact that the fetus had been shot up with thimerosal from its' mother's flu shot. Of course, Seidel also had to leap to another conclusion about the autistic guy who, if he hadn't been tested to rule out genetics, had most likely been poisoned into autism by mercury himself.

It's interesting how the neurodiverse mind can think that haughtily written letters to the editor become logical by using big words like "proselytization", sounds dirty, doesn't it. It simply means to convert or, in this case, educate.
Whatever, it's a feeble attempt at sophistry from a pseudo-intellectual.

Seidel tries to paint parents of mercury damaged children as being a greedy bunch of lowlifes who are only interested in grabbing a quick buck from the vaccine manufacturers. Seidel is unconcerned about the cost of caring for autistic kids, especially since she doesn't seem to want anyone to cure one of them. Some of that money parents could win from a lawsuit would, undoubtedly be used towards that end by these lowlife parents who actually want to help their kids. Is Seidel worried that any cured kids would make her pals in the vaccine industry look bad?

She goes on to claim that all parents don't like "grotesque, catastrophic terms such as epidemic and human tidal wave". This is true since the handful of idiots associated with neurodiversity don't like to agree with anything that paints autism as the life destroying nightmare that it is. She also missed the "train wreck" term which is my favorite. For me, that describes what happened to my son perfectly, to transform him from a normal baby to a walking zombie.

Mrs Seidel thinks the use of these terms dehumanizes autistic people. That's a nice bit of sophistry from someone who wants to discredit every decent parent on the face of the earth who helps a kid with autism climb out of the abyss. I love these terms because they are accurate descriptions of the horror that has been perpetrated on our babies by the sons of bitches who poisoned them with their negligence.

Sorry Kathleen, you don't count as a member of the autistic community. You are an outcast by virtue of your deranged character assassinations of respectable scientists who have helped to cure our children from this mercury induced nightmare. You are, by default, part of the Pharma community. You are not part of any community of decent people who abhor watching children suffer.

Thank you, Mrs Imus. I appreciate your speaking on behalf of my son, Sam.

Statistical analysis? LOL.

John, there's actual evidence that most parents (~ 90%) don't believe vaccines caused their child's autism.

John Best said...

That may mean we have some work to do to educate them, Joe. However, 99.99% of parents are against letting their children rot in the abyss as practiced by neuroinsanity.

John, please get cured. Ask the Jihadist to severe your brain. For the sake of Sam, get help. You ooze the bile of hatred of him.

And, please do not breed again.

A suggestion: a link would certainly help readers to understand your complaints. We can look it up easily enough, but it'd be more convenient linked. It's hardly an implied endorsement, as (for example) skeptics link to woo all the time.

Your remark that it's hard to figure out causes for certain would be admirably skeptical, if it weren't abundantly clear that you object to jumping to conclusions only when they aren't the ones you passionately embrace. Just as anecdotes aren't a substitute for data, general principles don't always give us the causes for particular events.

However, the hypocrisy gets a bit old when you complain that Kathleen's "leaping to conclusions". I've yet to see you express anything but certainly in your claims, yet to see you respond to data except to repeat what you say you "know", and yet to see you consider that some who disagree with you just might be decent folk, neither insane nor evil. You don't just leap to conclusions, you live in a bubble of conclusions, sealed off from objective reality.

I suppose "you know what you saw" with Sam. However, science exists because we've come to understand that, although seeing is often believing, it often isn't true understanding. Even if you were right that mercury caused Sam's impairment and chelation caused the improvement, despite the facts that this is a weightier claim than that made by Kathleen and that the scientific concensus would suggest that it's unlikely, anecdotes do not constitute data and it is unjustified for you to extrapolate from this and similar stories that autism is a misdiagnosis of mercury poisoning in infancy.

Speaking of unjustified claims, that "analysis" would need some work to fool anyone who knows what numbers are. Before you try to cook some more numbers, you'll want to study with the creationists so that you're up to at least their level of nonsense. I would certainly expect many more than 40 parents even among scientists cited in the literature for studies refuting your claims.

You don't seem to like sophistry much, but learning its techniques would at least let you distort the truth in style. The name-calling and ridiculous figures you present just get old. Better yet, you could save your money instead of chelating and save your effort instead of repeating unlikely claims. Even though I'm confident you won't change your path, I'm glad Sam seems to be doing well.

I wouldn't advise the non-mercury-conspiracy commenters to call names too much, as tempting as it may be, for it brings us down to their level. That's abundantly clear when I compare the level of discourse on this blog to that on a real medical blog.

Jonsmum, the "mass media" is too busy presenting high-rating nonsense, like astrology, "psychics", and Autism Speaks. (But not autistics! Mustn't let those train wrecks think they can gainsay normal people!)

WRG:
I have spirited discussions on horse racing with much disagreement. We can call each other dumb fucks over poor interpretations of the data with no hard feelings. In the end, we learn from each other, working to the same goal of cashing tickets.
The disagreement here is not directed at the goal of doing what is best for the affected children. The neurodiverse arguments dwell on proving that mercury is not the cause while this camp is more concerned with what treatments will help kids. We already know the truth. It's crazy to deny it. It's even crazier to claim that one is killing an autistic "train wreck" by giving him medicine that will allow him to function. There's not one bit of "Joy" in autism but we have to endure that nonsense from your camp. Sure, make light of kids smearing feces all over themselves. Claim it's not part of autism just because some moron who wrote a definition for the DSM didn't know enough about the subject to include it, or has been too lazy to update this. Make use of logical fallacies to nullify the substance of an argument to prove your point. What good does that do to help kids?
Sorry, these tactics demand zero respect for those who use them as they are intentionally denying a concerted effort to do what's best for kids.
Keep telling yourself that anecdotes are not data. Will that help any autistic children?

John,
Just wanted to let you know that my son's grandparents saw him for the first time in six months. During those six months, he has been undergoing intense biomedical intervention under a Physicans's supervision.
My father, the highly decorated marine cried like a baby, when his formerly non-verbal grandson said "Hi Papa", took his hand and walked him into the house. (7 years is a long time to wait)
So Screw the ND and their international nitwits and keep up the good work.
Oh and the evidence is that most parents of autistic children are too overwhelmed by the daignosis to consider what caused it.

John Best said...

Anon, Fantastic!! That's a testament to you being a great parent. Let's hope we can hear the same story from everyone someday soon.
I think you're right about most people being overwhelmed. Now if we can find a way to get the truth to all of them.

Anonymous said...

Okay here goes. Earth to dumbfuck Earth to dumbfuck. Firstly your claim that any parent who doesn't blog for neurodiversity hates their child's autism and thinks it was caused by mercury clearly shows you to be a trailer-dwelling coo coo with enough confirmation bias to kill a yak (I felt like saying that word it's a fun word).

Secondly if you think mercury causes autism you either know jack shit about mercury or are just too stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time. If you knew anything about mercury poisoning you'd know that one of the symptoms is death. The fact that we have a normal lifespan proves that we haven't been mercury poisoned.

Poor Sam, he's got to deal with the stigmas of autism, comorbidities (probably), AND a father who is certifiably mentally inferior to my ballsack.

Just drink the Kool Aid already and stop bothering people.

Sam's physical development is excellent. He's strong as an ox.

Fore Sam,

What about those who have done both DMSA and DMPS challenges and the results have determined they are "not candidates for chelation"? Oh, and I should point out that fragile-x or some other "chromosome defect" is not a factor here, either. What do you suggest for folks in that situation?

Making statements like those who don't chelate their kids are "letting them rot" is unfair. For some, it's because the test results don't recommend it and in fact, strongly recommend AGAINST it.

While I understand your passion for getting the word out about what "works" for your son, that doesn't automatically mean it will "work" for all. Like all other "treatments", it is by a case by case basis...one size does not fit all.

John Best said...

Anon,
Legitimate criticism, a welcome opportunity for discussion.
Challenge tests are not the definitive test to determine if chelation is warranted. A hair test is the best method from my understanding.
The "letting them rot" comment is obviously aimed at those who advocate doing nothing. Since this is a blog and not a doctor's office, I take the liberty of generalizing. I think most sane people will agree that the most obvious cause of this epidemic is mercury. That's why it makes sense that chelation would be the best treatment for the majority.
Simpletons like Kevin Leitch, who won't test his kid but celebrates the joy of her brain damage, deserve the "rot" comment. Parents who investigate the cause do not. I hope you don't take my general position personally.

Anonymous said...

Fore Sam,

No, nothing taken personally here. It was just a very broad statement and I was looking for clarification on your part. While I still respectfully disagree with your methodology for labeling people for their choices, I thank you for taking the time to clarify your statement.

Anonymous said...

".... the stupidity of the neurodiverse" ?? Wouldn't that apply to *everyone* ?

Why isn't this blog named "Hating Mercury Poisoning?"

I'd like to see all this energy devoted to having those with autistic-like symptoms who really have mercury poisoning be diagnostically reclassified as "Mercury Poisoned." Surely one of the big C doctors would be able to make one big black stroke of the pen and change it all, putting the "theory" into reality. (C = Chelation.)

Autistic-like characteristics doesn't necessarily make "Autism," as has been pointed out time and again. Then, (by reclassifying properly) you might have a chance of actually getting some money in those lawsuits. Because that's what it's really about, right? If it's mercury, then that grooves to the damages money and can compensate for the out of pocket expenses incurred in recovering all these kids.

I mean, if it's genetics ... well, so sorry, Charlie - it was one of God's Big Gambles. No metals, no monies. There's yer next bumpah stickah.

Personally, I've 3 on spectrum. None were caused by vaccine. They weren't vaccinated. All were tested out for mercury components. All have had sensory-based therapy, simple vitamin C, and time. Two now talk up a storm. The third is learning to type.
All 3 as diverse as snowflakes and fingerprints. We just can't lump every individual into the mercury pot, as you've stated.

John Best said...

Anon; As has been pointed out time and again to the ND nitwits, when autism was named, Kanner did not know that he had misnamed the symptoms of mercury poisoning. Now, we know. Wake up and shut up.

Anonymous said...

ZuZu,
What makes you think that the only source of mercury comes from vaccines? For that matter what makes you think that heavy metal poisoning is limited to mercury. I too have a Granddaughter on the spectrum. I am also a believer of high dose Vit C. She is very high functioning now. This was not always the case. I saw the biggest improvement with omega 3's. Many parents will swear by dietary changes. I think there are many roads leading out of OZ. One thing I know for sure. Main stream medicine has nothing to offer our kids except denial, and more toxic drugs. In fact this seems to be all they have to offer anyone.

Sophistry? Of course it dehumanizes them.
